In October 2024, IP-Projects GmbH & Co. KG set the course for the future: rising costs with their previous data center provider made a strategic realignment necessary.
Following a thorough analysis, the company chose to migrate to one of nLighten’s state-of-the-art data centers – a decision that ensures scalability, cost-efficiency, and long-term viability. With a floor space of 2,496 m² and a planned final site capacity of 4,800 kW, the facility accommodates high-density racks of up to 15 kW on raised flooring and 20 kW on concrete flooring.
Clear Strategy for a Smooth Migration
The move to our Frankfurt data center required meticulous planning. Alongside analysing their existing infrastructure, IP-Projects documented all hardware and optimised processes to ensure seamless integration.
To minimise operational disruption, the migration was carried out in stages. Less critical systems were relocated first, followed by mission-critical applications. This iterative approach allowed both us and the client to gain valuable insights in real time and continuously improve the process. Stability and reliability were always the top priorities.
Flexibly Overcoming Challenges
Despite thorough preparation, the project presented a number of challenges for everyone involved – from coordinating the various teams, to integrating the new technical environment, and even managing night-time deliveries. Thanks to agile project planning and implementation methods, we were able to respond flexibly to unforeseen complications and develop pragmatic, customer-focused solutions on the spot. This proactive approach, both from our side and from the client, was a key success factor.
